AGM decisions

The following decisions were made at the AGM on Monday 16th January.

1. League fees to stay as per last year.

2. In 2012 the A Division league position will be decided on points as in the past. The A Division will have nine teams and the B Division eight teams. The league season will start on Tuesday 1st May. Cup matches will be played on the 10th, 17th and 24th April, with the semi-finals and final on Sunday 20th May.

3. The B Division ‘End of Season’ Competition will be played again in 2012 with the same format. Also retained is the A v B Top 10 competition to be played on Tuesday 4th September.

4. The individual/pairs competitions will be played on Saturdays. David will be trying to arrange dates so as to avoid clashes with other leagues. Hopefully dates and venues will be available before the middle of February.

5. Major rule changes for 2012 —
a) Handicap for A Division champions is to be based on the average winning chalks margin from the previous season with a different handicap for home and away matches.
b)  In Cup matches if there is a tie on aggregate then the team with the best individual score will be declared the winner, not the team with the most individual winners.
c) In the event of a tie on wins for the Individual Merit prize, the winner will be the player with the highest chalk difference, irrespective of games played.
